Final Episode of the CDRC radio program at Radyo Veritas

Maraming salamat CDRC at Radyo Veritas! Read CDRC’s post.

CDRC concluded its last episode on Radio Veritas (DZRV 846 khz) last March 9, 2012 after more than three years of airing. The radio segment is part of the project: Enhancing Flood Preparedness and Helping the Survivors of Super Typhoon Reming Help Themselves. The project and the radio segment, which started in 2008, were funded by Caritas Switzerland as part of its advocacy on disaster preparedness and mitigation.

For the final episode, the musician who composed and produced CDRC’s radio theme song — Karl Ramirez — graced the studio for a live rendition of the song. CDRC’s staff were also present to thank and say goodbye to all the listeners. Despite it being the last episode, CDRC and its Regional Centers will continue to report or feed information to Radio Veritas on the latest news and issues related to disasters and the environment. CDRC is also planning to continue producing special episodes via the internet or through Podcasts.

WordPressing again

Faced with a lot of concerns coming in from every direction, ngayon lang nagkaroon ng puwang na makapag-login muli sa blog.

Proud to have the same birthday as revolutionary Tandang Sora

“…one can really reflect how in the late 1890s, an old lady stood up to help Filipino rebels in their fight for freedom. Tandang Sora actually joined the Katipunan at 84 years old, easily the revolutionary army’s oldest member.

Despite her old age, she joined the Katipunan and helped the wounded Katipuneros during the Filipino revolt against the Spaniards. Her small sari-sari store housed the group’s secret meetings and often supplied their food. It is said that Tandang Sora remained poor but found content in helping her countrymen.” –From Loqal

Camp Notes and Quotes about the 1st Elements Songwriting Camp in Dumaguete

(First part, link to next part at end of post.) Ito ang unang pagkakataon ngayong taon na ‘di ko dinala ang laptop sa isang out of town activity kahit sigurado ang kuryente o internet connection. Siguro dahil ayaw kong ma-istorbo. Mabuti nalang.

First photo in my camera is the photo above with Gary Granada taken in NAIA terminal 2 while boarding the plane for Dumaguete. Continue reading

A tribute to a decade of serving the people

ST4P

This year, we are celebrating Agham and Agham-Youth’s ten years of making science and technology serve the people. As a tribute to a decade of struggle and service, I’ve uploaded and collected in a YouTube playlist the thematic (and classic) short videos of Agham and Agham-Youth since 1999. Click here to reminisce and strengthen your commitment.

What AKOMISMO is all about (Updated)

(Updated the post with Maxene Magalona’s public reply via a Facebook note to the issue – May 6, 2009)
