Party list representatives Satur Ocampo, Liza Maza and Teddy Casiño are taking their political plans a step further today by registering a new political coalition aimed at carrying through their senatorial candidacies in the 2010 elections.
The three opposition members of the House and their supporters went to the COMELEC offices in Intramuros this morning to formally register the Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan (Makabayan), which plans to field candidates for the Senate and for local government positions in next year’s elections. Kodao Productions presents the first episode of “Satur” directed by Joel C. Lamangan. The people’s tribute was held at the UP Bahay ng Alumni last May 28, 2009. The tribute was prepared by the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, Bayan Muna, and the human rights organization KARAPATAN.

Ka Satur is “tweeting” too! At the tribute organized by friends and comrades at the Bahay ng Alumni last night, emcees Hon. Teddy Casiño, Jr. of the progressive partylist Bayan Muna and film director Bibeth Orteza announced some of the ways friends and supporters can receive updates about Ka Satur online. Aside from Facebook, everyone now can “follow” Ka Satur on Twitter.
Satur Ocampo is a journalist who joined the National Democratic movement and became a political detainee during Martial Law. He also became the spokesperson of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines in the1980′s. At present, he is a partylist representative of Bayan Muna.
Last night’s tribute was also aired live via Internet streaming through USTREAM.
