Maza Ako! –Angel Locsin

Watch video of actress and women’s rights advocate Angel Locsin on why she will vote for Liza Maza this May 2010.  Liza Maza and Satur Ocampo both came from progressive partylists and have a long history of defending the interest of the Filipino people in various fields of struggle.

I think this was taken during MAZALine, a nationalist fashion shoot together with Sandra Araullo, triathlete, model, and daughter of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan chair Carol Araullo. Video from Sinagharaya’s YouTube channel.

Bicolanos despise Teodoro ad in Pacquiao-Hatton fight

From Tessa Lopez, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan – Bikol, forwarded by Vince Casilihan.

Teodoro ad in Pacquiao fight, done in bad taste

As with most Filipinos, we enjoyed the Pacquiao-Hatton fight last Sunday even if it was quite short and it had a lot of commercials. But what really is irritating and is almost surely anomalous is the supposed infomercial of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) which has Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro giving tips on disaster by spelling out his surname.

This is an ill-disguised campaign gimmick for his 2010 presidential bid and it is at the expense once again of the Filipino people, because it was funded from the taxpayer’s coffers. Here in Bicol where calamities always occur, we take it as an insult that Teodoro is using our plight as well as the people’s money to push for his election. We hope that this is immediately investigated and that Teodoro be held accountable.

Garci returning for the 2010 elections

Reposting from the Computer Professional’s Union post.

Press Release, 7 April 2009

Computer professionals envision an automated Garci returning in the 2010 elections

“Cheating and fraud in the 2010 election will be swift and simple for the likes of Garci through the automated election system (AES) the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is striving to implement”, asserts the Computer Professionals’ Union (CPU). In 2010, Garci will return and will be more sophisticated in his cheating schemes with his expertise in computer technology. Garci will operate far better than the fraud he performed last 2004 national election. This will give him and his cohorts more reason to “lol—that is, laugh out loud”. Continue reading
