Sundial

In 2006, me and my father Monram came up with “Sundial”, a video documentary about the UP College of Engineering. The project was commissioned by the alumni organization of one of the largest fraternities in the College of Engineering, the Beta Epsilon.

My father did most of the research and wrote the script for the documentary. We also had Dr. Sean Palmiano of the National Engineering Center as voice talent for the narration. Aside from the overall direction, I shot most of the video material, supervised the recordings, and arranged the musical score.

To enhance the historic mood of the film, some video footage were shot in approximately the exact framing the classic photos of the college were taken. Then using a simple cross-fade, we made it look like the classic black and white photo is slowly time-warping into present day colored video.
