Nina Simone’s Protest Anthology

Protest Anthology is a collection of never before seen interviews and live tracks of Nina Simone, Grammy Award-nominated American singer, songwriter, pianist, and staunch civil rights activist. Nina Simone lived from February 21, 1933 to April 21, 2003 and is considered an important icon in the blues and jazz genre.

Schemag.com describes Protest Anthology which was released last year April 8, 2008 as a collection that “contain some of Nina Simone’s most political statements ever captured, and truly sum up her strong viewpoints on being black in America during the 1960s, viewpoints that surely would have been controversial in her time.”
