Ex-martial law detainees and former political prisoners gather in SELDA anniversary

The Samahan ng mga Ex-Detainees Laban sa Detensyon at Aresto (SELDA) recently held a gathering in celebration of their 28th year at the UP Diliman library’s Filipiniana section. Coming together were activists detained not only during Martial Law but also by regimes succeeding Ferdinand Marcos’ administration.

Founded by ex-martial law detainees in 1984, SELDA has been so far the largest organization of former political prisoners in the country. They have been most consistent in campaigning for the unconditional release of all political prisoners in the country.
