The Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP), an organization co-founded by activist filmmaker Lino Brocka in 1983, recently opened “Artista ng Bayan” at the Sining Kamalig gallery of Gateway Mall, Cubao, Quezon City. The exhibit opening also coincides with the launch of the 2011-2012 “Artista ng Bayan” calendar. Evening cultural performances served as tribute to the numerous artists who dedicate their lives in pursuit of basic social change.
